Starting Monday, You Can Take the NYC Ferry to Visit Governors Island Year-Round
It’s heeeeeeeeeeere — the long-awaited, year-round ferry service to Governors Island kicks off on Monday, January 24, which means you’ll be able to soak in all the views, bites, public art and events Lower Manhattan has to offer even in the darkest days of winter.
The South Brooklyn route is adding Governors Island as a permanent stop in between Sunset Park/Brooklyn Army Terminal and Red Hook/Atlantic Basin. That’ll change around a bit when the Coney Island route launches later this year, so we’ll keep you updated on future service changes.
In the summer, you’ll still be able to access Governors Island via a dedicated shuttle from Pier 11. Governors Island will continue to run summer weekend shuttles from Brooklyn Bridge Park-Pier 6 and Red Hook.
