Ghosts, Goblins and Vampires, Take Note: the Oculus Is Now Home to Halloween House

It’s spooky season here in Lower Manhattan, which means that from now through November 1, the Oculus will be harboring a house of fright — PG-rated, of course. Head to the lower level of the South Concourse (directly opposite the MAC Cosmetics store) and you’ll find Halloween House: an immersive, all-ages All Hallow’s Eve experience meticulously decorated with the requisite cobwebs, candles and jack o’lanterns. BOO!

For folks who find real life scary enough, Halloween House aims to offer a fun and festive Halloween experience without the overwhelming horror. This haunting experience is free of actors, jump scares, strobe lights and extreme gore, so you can enjoy spooky sets like the “Trick or Treat Room,” “Glow in the Dark Room,” “Horror Movie Graveyard” and “Dracula’s Lair” without worrying about suffering any subsequent night terrors.

Halloween House, which attracted over 100,000 visitors last year, is open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. It takes about 45 minutes to explore the whole thing, though you’re welcome to take as much time as you like to make your way through it. Purchase tickets via the Halloween House website.
