We’ve Got Patio Fever
It’s just about time to soak up sunny New York City, so let’s make the most of it. There are many surefire methods to bask in that vitamin D — park hangs, long walks, baseball games, beaches — but the best way to take in the nice weather is via outdoor bars and restaurants. An activity that, we humbly believe, is best enjoyed on the patio.
Though Lower Manhattan’s locales for al fresco drinking and dining might not be as spacious or as well-defined as some of the settings in less bustling cities, we’d like to think that the patio experience is more of a state of mind: the ability to enjoy the open air at any place with refreshing cocktails, chill vibes and those sweet, sweet rays illuminating your SPF-coated face. The pastime applies just as much to lounging in pool chaises somewhere in Texas as it does sinking into Cobble Fish’s electric-blue couches on Pier 16’s planks.
In this neighborhood, you’ll find everything from the umbrella-shaded marble tops at Liberty Bistro to Fresh Salt’s cozy outdoor shed to the pedestrian-friendly Stone Street. There is the never-ending fiesta out back at Toro Loco and the Seaport’s sprawling Industry Kitchen, and the Downtown Alliance is burning up with excitement to share it all with you in our We’ve Got Patio Fever series. You’ll get the skinny on beautiful views, delicious apps, perspectives from industry insiders, how to (responsibly) indulge in a liquid lunch and more.
And to get you in the patio mood (as if you aren’t already!), be sure to queue up our themed Spotify playlist.
