Poulette Brings French Rotisserie Chicken, Cozy Sides to Lower Manhattan

If you’ve had a lousy day, there’s only one solution. Well, only one solution that won’t leave you with a pounding headache the next morning: a plate piled high with comfort-food classics like mashed potatoes, roast chicken and mac and cheese. There’s no better spot for it than — wait for it — Poulette (88 Fulton St.), a French-inspired rotisserie chicken spot that recently opened its doors to the neighborhood.

The rotisserie chicken is clearly the must-order dish here, with crispy, herb-crusted skin and moist white or dark meat inside. It comes in quantities ranging from one-quarter of the chicken to the entire bird, and you can rest easy knowing the chickens served here are all-natural, free-roaming and antibiotic and hormone-free.

Pair your order with one of Poulette’s simple and elegant sides, like the sautéed brussels sprouts with tarragon and mustard seeds or the aforementioned mac and cheese with not one, not two, but three kinds of cheese. Then, wash it all down with a refreshing passion fruit juice that’s made on site.

Poulette is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. most days and offers takeout and delivery as well as dine-in options for all your necessary cravings.
