Potty All the Time in Lower Manhattan: a List of the Public Bathrooms
Holiday shopping season is just around the corner, and for those making plans to hit up shops and restaurants while making their way through the family wish lists, it’s helpful to know where you can make a pit stop. The good news is, even without Century 21’s blessedly clean restrooms (RIP), this neighborhood still provides an array of toilets open to the public. Here’s where to go. Literally:
- New Amsterdam Library, 9 Murray Street (requires library card)
- Teardrop Park, inside the Solaire Building adjacent to the park
- Battery Park City Library, 175 North End Avenue (requires library card)
- Battery Park City Ferry Terminal
- Brookfield Place, 230 Vesey St (Level 1 by PJ Clarkes; Level 2 by Hudson Eats)
- Wagner Park, 20 Battery Place
- Castle Clinton National Monument, the Battery
- The Battery Comfort Station, Battery Pl and Washington St
- National Museum of the American Indian, 1 Bowling Green
- The View at the Battery, Battery Underpass at South Street
- Staten Island Ferry Terminal, 4 Whitehall Street
- Pier 11 / Wall St. Ferry Terminal, South Street
- Pier 17, Level 4
- 60 Wall Street Public Atrium, Wall Street and Hanover Street
- Trinity Church, 102 North End Avenue
- Battery Parking Garage, 70 Greenwich Street
- 2 World Trade Center, Balcony level (north concourse)
- 3 World Trade Center, Balcony level by stairs and main level by stairs
- St. Paul’s Chapel, 209 Broadway
- East River Greenway Public Restroom, between Pier 15 and Pier 16
- Imagination Playground, Front St., John St. and South St.
And P.S. Don’t forget to wash your hands (for at least 20 seconds, per CDC instructions). Masks might be optional these days, but let’s not squabble over this one!
