Salty Pimps, Crack Pie & Vegan Sicilians Get Ready To Infiltrate LM This Summer

With warmer weather just around the corner, a sweet segment of our retail market that will help cool us off during the summer is heating up. Three popular ice cream stores announced they would be setting up shop in Lower Manhattan.

Milk Bar‘s recent opening on Wall Street brings a whole array of sweet desserts with their ice cream.  Cookies, cakes, pies, and shakes are among the many things that they make with colorful flare that’ll be sure to appease the kid and sweet tooth in you.  Grab a cup of their Cereal Milk flavored soft serve or a slice of their exclusive naked cakes!  If you try the Crack Pie, go for the whole thing instead of just a slice.  It really is as addictive as the name implies.

Van Leeuwen rolls into town too and announced it will open a storefront location at 224 Front Street,  offering their selection of regular and vegan artisan ice cream.  What started in the kitchen of a Brooklyn apartment, Van Leeuwen now has an ice cream truck as well as 6 storefronts throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn with all their ice cream still being made in their Greenpoint location keeping it 100% New York.

Big Gay Ice Cream opens at the South Street Seaport for the summer before moving to a permanent location, a surprise to be revealed later on in the year.  Signature treats like the Salty Pimp Cone and the Bea Arthur cone have ranked BGIC among the top ice cream parlors in the world over the years. The sultry named sweet treats are a fun, tasty and welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Delicious summer treats await you in LM this summer!
