Fall is just around the corner, which means it’s almost time for some of the neighborhood’s best food festivals. Our own Lunch Box hits 28 Liberty on October 7 (more on that later), but before you gorge on $10 boxed lunches, make room for the Taste of the Seaport, which’ll hit the waterfront on Saturday, September 26.
Sponsored by Seaport Entertainment Group, this year’s festival can be found on Piers 16 and 17 from noon to 4 p.m. Featuring 50 of your downtown faves, participants include local standbys like Carne Mare, the Fulton and Le Gratin, as well as Lower Manhattan hotspot Old Mates and popular newcomer Sadie’s. If the bites aren’t enough of a draw, there’ll also be a free KidZone offering family-friendly activities.
Early bird tickets are now available for $50 ($70 if you purchase after September 15), and include six tastes from participating restaurants. All proceeds benefit Spruce Street and Peck Slip schools. There are also a number of VIP experiences available; learn more at tasteoftheseaport.org.
