Win a Chance to March in This Year’s Pride Parade

A brief video of people marching

For the first time in history, World Pride is happening in the U.S. this year, and NYC is hosting over four million people across all five boroughs. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which was followed a year later by the first-ever Pride March. This pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality happened half a century ago in the summer of 1969 and it feels just as urgent today as ever.

Lower Manhattan takes pride in being a place where LGBTQ+ New Yorkers can be 100% themselves. To celebrate the neighborhood’s welcoming spirit, we recently launched a “Be Seen” campaign.  We teamed up with three of Downtown’s most influential change-makers, Conde Nast’s Whembley Sewell, Blue Park Kitchen Owner Kelly Fitzpatrick and GLSEN’s former COO Doug Flores to make a video about what visibility and being seen means to them.

We’re also focusing LMHQ’s June 18th Women’s Breakfast on “Being Seen in the Workplace”. Everyone Is Gay co-founder Kristin Russo will lead a discussion about feeling seen and heard at work, workplace bias, how to be an ally, and advocating for equality in the workplace. Fellow participants include: Lambda Legal’s Kristina Villarini, Spotify’s Hannah Wolf and Blue Park Kitchen Owner Kelly Fitzpatrick.

To continue this important conversation, we’re asking for you to tell us what LGBTQ+ visibility and being seen means to you here.

And as a thank you, we’ll send one lucky winner and up to four of their friends/family to walk in this year’s NYC Pride March on Sunday, June 30.

Here’s how to enter on Instagram:

1. Follow us @downtownnyc ⁣

2. Post a video telling us what “being seen” means to you by completing this statement: #IFeelSeenWhen ________.⁣

3. You can enter as many times as you like before Monday, June 17 at 11:59 pm.⁣

4. We’ll share some of our favorites on IG Stories and select/notify one winner on June 18 to receive up to five tickets total for them and their family/friends to march and Be Seen at this year’s Pride NYC March on Sunday, June 30.⁣

Full terms and conditions.
