You Can Soon Take the NYC Ferry From Lower Manhattan to Staten Island and Midtown West

There’s no end to the new transportation options in Lower Manhattan, and now there’s yet another way to move around the city with ease. The NYC Ferry is adding a route to and from St. George on Staten Island, with stops in Midtown West in addition to Battery Park City.

The $2.75-per-trip ferry route is a welcome addition to the Staten Island Ferry, which you will be able access at Whitehall Terminal, starting August 23. If you’re trying to access Staten Island from the West Side of Lower Manhattan, it’ll save you a significant walk. More importantly, this is the only NYC Ferry route that’ll take you up the West Side — Lower Manhattan residents will get a quick trip uptown, and for Staten Island residents, the route will get you to Midtown West in just 35 minutes, which saves you 20 minutes in either direction.

You can check out more NYC Ferry routes, including routes to and from Governors Island and Rockaway, on the ferry’s website.
