Downtown Alliance Publishes 2011 Shopping & Dining Guides: Access to More than 1,300 Places to Eat and Shop

Just in time for the holidays, more than 1,300 places to eat and shop in Lower Manhattan are now at your fingertips – thanks to the Alliance for Downtown New York’s new 2011-2012 Shopping and Dining Guide.

“Our Shopping and Dining Guide is the perfect companion for anyone who lives or works in, or visits Lower Manhattan,” said Elizabeth H. Berger, President of the Downtown Alliance. “And we’ve made it even more accessible this year by providing this comprehensive guide online. From historic sites to world-class shopping to a truly eclectic selection of dining options, there is something for everyone here – and it’s all within walking distance.”

This year, the Downtown Alliance combined its two separate publications – a Shopping Guide and a Dining Guide – into one convenient, easy-to-use listing, including more than 1,300 restaurants, museums, bars, retailers and organizations and services.

This month, the Downtown Alliance distributed free hard copies of the guide to residents and visitors by mail and will distribute additional guide at future events, such as the Downtown Alliance’s 2012 Mulchfest and E-Waste Recycling Event in January.

The Guides are categorized for quick reference – using color-coded tabs – so readers can easily access information and descriptions about full-service restaurants, delis, bars, retailers, museums and business services.

“We invite you to stroll around Lower Manhattan and experience everything our lively, 24/7 neighborhood has to offer,” Berger said. “From shopping opportunities at the World Financial Center and the South Street Seaport to barbers and bookstores, landmarks and locksmiths, pet shops and pizzerias – and hundreds of places in between – Lower Manhattan has it all.”
