Make Sure You Can Vote, Despite The Pandemic. Here’s How.

UPDATE, May 5: A federal judge has reinstated the presidential race on the New York State ballot, joining several key local races for which your vote can make a meaningful difference. Submit your absentee ballot request here.

Now is the time to start preparing to cast your ballot on June 23.

This week, in light of the coronavirus pandemic, Governor Cuomo announced that all New Yorkers will be allowed to cast an absentee vote for the upcoming primary and special elections in New York.

The easiest and quickest way to apply for your absentee ballot is printing out the application form yourself and having it postmarked by a governmental postal service. Then,  send it to your local board of elections no later than June 16. If offices will be open in June, you can also deliver it in-person by June 22. You can also get an application by calling 1-866-VOTE-NYC to have an application sent to your home.

Once your absentee ballot arrives, fill it out and postmark it by June 22. It must be received by the local board of elections no later than June 30. You can have someone deliver the ballot in person to the local board of elections by June 23.

While the presidential primary nominee has been effectively decided, there are still key local races where your vote can make a meaningful difference, like the New York State Assembly primary race. For more info visit this page
