National Museum Of The American Indian Streams New Documentary On Washington NFL Team
Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (1 Bowling Green) remains closed to the public, but that won’t stop the organization from sharing interesting content about a relevant and debated topic.
In partnership with the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts and Santa Fe Indian Market, the museum will host a two-night screening of “More Than A Word,” a documentary focusing on the Washington NFL team and its use of a derogatory mascot.
Following each screening will be a recorded conversation with Kevin Grover (Pawnee), director of the National Museum of the American Indian, and activist Amanda Blackhorse (Diné), a plaintiff in the 2014 lawsuit “Blackhorse v. Pro Football, Inc.”
The virtual screenings premiere August 28 at 7p EST and on August 29 at 3p. You can watch them at https://nmai.brand.live/c/morethanaword.
