Father’s Day Brunch: Where To Celebrate Dad In Lower Manhattan

At long last, we can celebrate our dads with the two best things in life: 1) big hugs and 2) brunch. (OK, the hugs are a bit more special, but still.) Here’s where to feast on eggs and other morning delights in Lower Manhattan on Father’s Day.

Schilling (109 Washington Street)

Treat your dad to a tasty festessen courtesy Michelin-starred chef Eduard Frauneder. Schilling is offering a schnitzel-for-four deal, complete with a free bottle of wine, for only $75. The deal is available for curbside pickup; more details on their website.  

Blue Smoke (255 Vesey Street)

There’s no better way to celebrate dad than with a massive barbecue — preferably one where he doesn’t have to do the grilling. Head to the newly-reopened Blue Smoke in Battery Park for a midday meatfest — menu items include Texas beef brisket, Memphis baby-back ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. Fraunces Tavern (54 Pearl Street)

Head to Fraunces Tavern, once fit for a Founding Father and now ready to serve up pub fare for your Founding Father. Brunch items include fish and chips, chicken pot pie and a traditional Irish breakfast with all the fixings (bangers, black-and-white pudding, beans and toast, you name it). You can also opt for a mouth-watering burger (see above and weep), and top your meal off with a pint.

Pearl Diner (212 Pearl Street)

Keep it low-key on Father’s Day and take dad for an intimate, no-frills breakfast date at Pearl Diner, where you can get classics like blueberry pancakes, omelets and egg sandwiches. The diner’s old-school decor makes for a fun throwback to the 1960s.
