Tin Building Sampler: Five Tasty Plant-Based Dishes to Try at Seeds & Weeds

Jean-Georges’s the Tin Building opened in September to great fanfare, bringing a whole new slate of upscale dining options to the neighborhood. Among the famed chef’s offerings in the historic, renovated space at 96 South Street is a new vegan and vegetarian restaurant called Seeds & Weeds. Don’t let the name fool you, though; there are lots of hearty and filling options on the menu at the cozy, rustic new second floor spot. Here are five must-try dishes.

Celeriac Katsu

The dishes here start from the ground with this celeriac katsu in the “roots and bulbs” section of the menu. It features fermented quince, mustard and shiso.

White Curry Dumplings

The “grains, legumes and more” section of the menu brings these delightful sounding sweet potato dumplings served in white curry with pickled daikon.

Dosa

Snack on this South Asian pancake along with sprouts, avocado, lemon vinaigrette and a yogurt dip.

Charcoal Grilled Brussels Sprouts

These tasty skewers make for a perfect appetizer, featuring the grilled sprouts along with yuba, pickled apple and black garlic

Olive Oil Fried Artichokes

This dish brings an extra crunchy touch to artichokes, served with saffron rose aioli and meyer lemon.
