LM Live’s Year in Review

It’s been quite a year! What started off as LMHQ transitioned to LM Live and closed out 2022 with a robust slate of events: Women’s Breakfasts, film screenings and Ask the Expert sessions. Support and feedback is always appreciated, and more programming is headed your way in the coming months.

Until then, here’s a recap of LM Live’s first year IRL and online.

Women’s Breakfasts

In 2022, LM Live’s audience was once again able to gather in person for quarterly Women’s Breakfasts at a new home: the Studio @ 7 WTC. A fantastic lineup of speakers touched on topics such as women’s leadership in politics, climate solutions, the impact of Dobbs v. Jackson and the reality of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. You can check out detailed summaries of the breakfasts below.

Ask the Expert Sessions

Also, 2022 saw the birth of a new event series: Ask the Expert. The sessions shine a spotlight on Lower Manhattan’s innovators and industry leaders, who share insights from their career paths and areas of expertise. This year, LM Live was joined by M.M.LaFleur founder Sarah LaFleur and content creator Josh Katz. You can hear their words of wisdom by watching the recordings below.

Film Screenings

Another exciting new element of LM Live’s programming was the introduction of film events. This summer the Downtown Alliance collaborated with Alamo Drafthouse and Fosun to host the Dancing Under the Stars outdoor screening series. To celebrate Pride month in June, we screened But I’m A Cheerleader. And, to kick off our New York on Film series, we presented the 2012 documentary Koch, followed by a conversation with director Neil Barsky and journalist Tom Robbins.
