Was that a Shooting Star?

Shooting Holiday Lights

As you rush from store to store in Lower Manhattan this holiday season, take a moment to look to the skies and you might see a shooting star.

In fact, you’ll be able to see 167 shooting stars and 41 star clusters, festooning lampposts within the one square mile we call home. We’ve put these up for 16 years to brighten the neighborhood for the holidays for the 309,000 workers, 56,000 residents and nine million annual visitors in Lower Manhattan. And, they’ll stay up until January.

It’s just another benefit for the neighborhood and adds even more sparkle to our holiday campaign. Just before Thanksgiving, we launched the fourth annual Holiday Shopping campaign. And we issued a new 2012 Lower Manhattan Shopping & Dining Guide, designed to showcase the district’s 1,300 exciting options in which to purchase the ideal holiday gift or gather with friends and family at the perfect restaurant.

You can find places in which to shop, dine or explore on the Downtown Alliance website, or download our free mobile app.  And if you’d like your very own copy of a Shopping & Dining Guide, you can order one by sending your information to us at [email protected].

That’s our holiday gift to you!
