Wednesday, July 15: the Black Business Equity and Access to Capital Rally

Leaders from a variety of Black-owned businesses and commercial real-estate developers are scheduled to march in the “Black Business Equity and Access to Capital” rally at 12:45p on Wednesday, July 15. The march’s route will begin at the African Burial Ground (290 Broadway) and conclude at City Hall Park (31 Chambers Street), culminating with a press conference to demand inclusion in both private and city contracts.

The rally is hosted by the New York Real Estate Chamber, a chamber of commerce composed of property managers, contractors, and developers united to expand minority-business participation and community development. Other participating Black organizations include the 400 Foundation, the Haitian American Caucus, HCCI, Abyssinian Baptist Church, New York State Association of Minority Contractors, Restoration Plaza, the Council of Black Architecture and Engineering Companies, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation and Full Spectrum NYC.

Demonstrators are advised to show up at the African Burial Ground at 12:45p sharp before the walk to City Hall commences.
