The US Census Deadline Is Approaching. Have You Been Counted Yet?

This week, the US Census Bureau announced it would conclude its door-to-door visitations by September 30, one month earlier than expected. (For those curious, Lower Manhattan’s response rate is only 50%! That response rate is well below the 2010 responses and, frankly, unacceptable for a neighborhood with our resources.)

Starting August 11, bureau representatives will begin knocking on doors and visiting residences to confirm each household occupancy, and let’s be honest: The laborious task of door-knocking to follow up on an easy online survey should be done instead in communities with limited resources that are historically underrepresented.

Don’t allow New York to go uncounted. Visit my2020Census.gov today and complete your census form. Encourage your family, friends and colleagues to do the same.
