China Institute’s Food & Ideas Festival Is A Delicious Way To Learn More About Chinese Cuisine
The Food & Ideas Festival from the China Institute wants to take you on a tour of the country through food, at a time when learning more about China is both needed and helpful.
The month-long virtual celebration starts on June 3 and will explore modern China through its history of food, featuring panels of Chinese foodies, food-centric movies, documentaries and cooking tips. It features five free digital programs focusing on comfort food, the artisanal movement in China, global influences on today’s cuisine and more.
The fest also comes with a recommended playlist of food-centric films like “In the Mood for Love” and “The Wedding Banquet,” and documentaries like “The Search for General Tso.” A series of smaller webinars will focus on individual items such as the wok and the pickle jar.
