Toss Your Old Clothes and Docs at Our Fall Shred-a-Thon, Now at a New Location

September 16, 2026

It’s shredding time: on Saturday, October 3, we’re pulling out our shredding truck and clothing bins for our annual fall shred-a-thon. This year, though, we’re shaking things up a little — instead of heading to Fulton Street, make your way to the corner of Old Slip and Water Street, where you’ll find our parked truck ready to securely destroy and recycle all sensitive documents, tax receipts and old bills. We’ll be there from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until the truck is filled.

You can bring freshly-laundered clothing, accessories and textiles for recycling. Accepted items include clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, hats, as well as household linens (curtains, sheets, towels), courtesy of Wearable Collections. Please leave carpeting, rugs, bath mats, comforters, pillows, large luggage, fabric or scraps of any kind, including pre-recycled insulation materials, at home. Please limit to 10 bags/boxes per person, and no commercial shredding permitted.

You’ll find a full list of accepted items here, and Wearable Collections offers suggestions for donating items they don’t accept here. Happy shredding!
