Free And Discounted Tech Tools To Help You Run Your Business Remotely

We’ve all been finding our way through video conferencing tools like Zoom and Hangouts over the past month to stay connected with friends and family, and to keep our business meetings steady. You may have even figured out how to get fancy with a fun and quirky new background or by applying filters

Also: Some companies are offering technology tools at a discount that may help you in running your small business and staying connected to your remote team during this time.

Accounting And Contracts

-DocuSign: Signing documents and contracts is harder right now, especially if you’re lacking printers/scanners (what’s a fax machine again?) in your home office. DocuSign is offering its services for 90 days for free if you’re a new user who signs up by April 30. Sign up here

-Bill.com: Going into the office to process checks or checking the mail for payments might not be an option for your business during these times. You can move from paper to electronic payments with bill.com and get paid faster. They are offering a free three-month subscription for new customers. Take advantage of the offer here

Communication

Slack: Connect to your remote team with Slack. This communication tool can help support community-building and foster connection across teams  (for example, you can start a #pets channel to check out your coworkers “office mate” or get recommendations to #stayfit with virtual workout sessions and avoid the Quarantine 15). While there’s a fair amount you can do with the free Slack version, the company is offering 25% off the first 12 months of eligible upgrades to Slack paid plans before April 30. Learn more here

E-Commerce And Customer Service

-Shopify: Take your goods to the web so you can sell directly to your customers with Shopify’s e-commerce and point-of-sale platform. Shopify is offering a 90-day free trial; all plans allow you to sell physical and digital gift cards, create free email marketing campaigns and organize local delivery and pick-up. Check out the offer here

ZenDesk: Make your customer service virtual with ZenDesk’s six-month complimentary Remote Support Bundle to help your team keep up with changing customer demand. Learn more.

Salesforce: Manage your customer relationships 24/7 with three free months of Salesforce Essentials for new customers. While you’re there, sign up to be notified about Salesforce’s $10,000 small business grant program for U.S.-based companies. Check it out

You can also take a look at Open for Business, which compiles additional listings of discounts and deals for tech services.
