Ride Into the Year of the Horse at the China Institute’s Lunar New Year Party

The Year of the Fire Horse begins next month, and the China Institute of America (100 Washington St.) is ready to party. On February 21, the organization is hosting its annual Lunar New Year Family Festival, with plenty of activities and festivities for attendees of all ages. And this year is extra special, as the China Institute is celebrating its 100th anniversary!
From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can expect lion dances, art activities and interactive workshops like making lucky coin pendants and Yuan Bao Tea. You can also create Lunar New Year red envelopes, take a virtual tour along the Huangpu River, solve lantern riddles and enjoy music from the Echos of China Ensemble. This year’s festivities are co-organized with the Shanghai Museum, which is dedicated to Chinese art.
