His work eventually led him to New York City, where he built a loyal clientele at salons in the Upper West Side and Brooklyn Heights before deciding to open a salon of his own in Lower Manhattan. Doti believes that hair-cutting and styling should be defined by the natural composition and shape of the client’s’ hair.
