Catch a Spectacular, Spectacular Free “Moulin Rouge” Screening at the Oculus

July 22, 2024

If you can’t be in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, the next best thing is to bring Paris (in 1899) to Lower Manhattan. On July 26, you can catch a screening of the 2001 Baz Luhrmann film “Moulin Rouge” at the North Oculus Plaza (Church and Fulton streets). The event is co-hosted by “Moulin Rouge: The Musical!” which is currently on Broadway (tickets here!).

This movie has it all: a delectable color palette, Nicole Kidman, several cancan sequences, young Ewan MacGregor, some of the best costuming in modern movie history and, of course, the “Elephant Love Medley.” The screening is free to attend, and starts at 7 p.m.; BYO blankets and portable chairs.
