Street pop artist Thierry Guetta, known as “Mr. Brainwash,” has everyone in Lower Manhattan looking up.  His latest mural creation, “NYC Is Beautiful”, aims to portray the city’s strength and diversity and serves as a tribute in remembrance of the September 11th attacks.

Looming  above Church Street on the side of the Century 21 building, the 65-by-225 foot mural is a collaborative effort between the artist and the prominent discount department store.  It stands right across the street from the 9/11 memorial.  Colors vibrantly splashed alongside iconic NYC landmarks, such as the Freedom Tower and the Statue of Liberty, convey a message of hope and resilience.

In the words of Century 21’s Co-Owner and Executive Vice President Isaac Gindi, the piece “represents the vibrancy of New York City and the strength of the downtown community.”
