The Parks Department’s Annual Mulchfest Is Getting Rid of Your Holiday Trees, Wreaths

If you haven’t had the opportunity to properly discard your holiday trimmings, the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is running their annual Mulchfest through January 8 at several locations throughout the city. Lower Manhattanites can bring their old trees and wreaths to the Battery (Greenwich Street and Battery Place) during park hours, and the city will get them responsibly recycled.

For other Mulchfest locations around the city, consult the NYC Parks map here, which also has spots listed for multiple chipping sites this weekend to work on any trees (sans lights and ornaments) brought their way. Let your friends, neighbors and area chipmunks know!
