NightOUT Celebrating Lower Manhattan’s LGBTQ workforce

By: Jarrod Grim

Last week, the Downtown Alliance in partnership with NYC & Company and them. hosted its second annual NightOUT event at 7 World Trade Center for the LGBTQIA workforce in Lower Manhattan. Over 200 movers and shakers from a range of companies and industries turned out, including American Express, Condé Nast, GLSEN, WeWork, Meredith and various City government agencies.

While NightOUT was a fun evening, the event was designed to activate the LGBTQIA community for commerce and economic development in Lower Manhattan. With WorldPride coming to New York City in 2019, a great opportunity exists for all stakeholders in the neighborhood. This event is part of a larger plan to harness the potential that such a high profile, large scale event might have for all of Lower Manhattan. Stayed tuned for more in the coming year.

p.s. In case you didn’t see, the base and spire of One World Trade Center were light up in rainbow to celebrate the event and the arrival of Pride Month in New York City.
