Download The New NYC Covid Safe App For Indoor Vaccination Requirements

Proof of vaccination for indoor dining, performance venues and gyms will be required beginning August 16, and the New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications has created another option for you to easily store proof of vaccination. The app, NYC COVID Safe, allows users to scan their vaccine cards, IDs and negative PCR test results. Unlike the Excelsior Pass app, users do not have to have received their vaccines in New York State or submit their data to an online vaccine database. 

This is ideal for tourists, who have not received a vaccine in-state or do not wish to share their data. To explore the app yourself, download it on your iOS or Android device.
