Overstory Is Officially One of the Best Bars in the World

As frequent visitors to Lower Manhattan’s many drinking holes, we believe that all the bars downtown are best on the planet. And, at the very least, one such downtown bar has earned that distinction — Overstory, the elegant cocktail spot located on 70 Pine’s 64th floor, was recently dubbed one of the best bars in the world. We knew it.

The 50 Best Brand just released its annual ranking of the world’s 50 best bars, with Overstory clocking in at an impressive number 17 for 2023. Helmed by the team behind SAGA and Crown Shy, Overstory earned praise for its “top tier” cocktails  like the Manhattan Deluxe (whiskey, amaro, raspberry, olive oil, cacao, salt) and the Last Frontier (gin, sherry, mandarin, beeswax, herbal yellow liqueur), as well as its curated wine and spirits list and “unparalleled view of the Gotham skyline.”

Overstory joins fellow New York City heavy-hitters Double Chicken Please (no. 2) and Katana Kitten (27) on the list, which is topped by Barcelona bar Sips. But only one of those top bars is in this district. Don’t just take it from us (or the 50 Best Brand); if you’d like to experience Overstory’s magic for yourself, you can make a reservation online
