It’s Pride Month! Here’s Where to Party Downtown

From LGBTQ+ book clubs to special sailing events and queer dance celebrations, Lower Manhattan has plenty of ways to celebrate Pride all month long. Whether you’re looking for community, culture, or just a really fun party, here’s everything happening downtown for Pride Month. 

Raise the Pride Flag at Trinity Church 

Trinity Church will be hosting several Pride Month events this June. On June 24, the church will host “This Is Our Story: A Gathering for Pride,” an evening of conversations with community-led small groups followed by a special service of music and prayer. On June 28, the church will host Pride Sunday services with programming that honors the LGBTQ+ community and recognizes the birth of the gay liberation movement in NYC. Talk queer history and storytelling with authors at McNally Jackson Seaport 

McNally Jackson’s Seaport location will welcome several authors for the “Pride in Writing 2026: Queer History, Telling Our Own Story” event on June 4 at 7 p.m. Panelists include Myriam Gurba (Poppy State, Timber Press), Hazel Newlevant (Queer and How We Got Here, Little, Brown Ink), and Hugh Ryan (My Bad, Bold Type Books), with moderator David Shelley guiding the conversation on queer history and the impact of storytelling. 

Head to the library for an LGBTQ+ book club

The Friends of Dorothy book club meets monthly at the Battery Park City Library for conversation centered on LGBTQ+ books. This month’s book is “Times Square Red, Times Square Blue” by Samuel Delany. Everyone is welcome to join the club’s meeting on June 9 at 5:30 p.m.    

Celebrate Pride at Peck Slip Park

Join the Old Seaport Alliance and Friends of Peck Slip Park for the Seaport Pride event. This all-ages event will feature live music, train rides, arts and crafts, a dog costume contest, apple cider donuts and more. Dogs are welcome to join the festivities, which kick off at 1 p.m. on June 13. 

Party on at the 2026 Youth Pride Event 

This party on Pier 16 is a block-party style celebration for LGBTQIA+ teens and allies. The 2026 Youth Pride Event on June 27 will feature musical performances, food, non-alcoholic drinks, carnival activations and much more. The day begins with a Trans Youth Rally at 11 a.m., with the all-day party to follow. Learn more and reserve your spot here

Set sail with the South Street Seaport Museum

One of the South Street Seaport Museum’s boats will embark on a special sail celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride on June 27. The 1885 schooner “Pioneer: will be decked out with a rainbow flag for this two-hour sail around New York Harbor. Guests are invited to bring their own food and drinks on board for this festive sail, which leaves the dock at noon. Tickets are $10-$50 and can be purchased here

Dance the night away with Desi-Queer Pride on the Pier

Come dance under the setting sun at the Desi-Queer Pride on the Pier event at Cobble Fish on Pier 16. With music by Ashu Rai, it’s sure to be a lively night. The event takes place rain or shine on June 27 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here
