Christmas Day Eats: Six Hearty Options South Of Chambers Street

You know you’re going to eventually need to break loose from the fam and forage for some tasty provisions, but who’s open on Christmas Day? These Lower Manhattan picks will not disappoint. Two of which (Malibu Farm, Temple Court) have custom prix-fixe menus for the day, FYI, so getting reservations is recommended.

1. 22 Thai Cuisine

Satisfy your hankering for shrimp pad Thai or coconut curry at this no-frills mainstay, located one flight of stairs below Fulton Street. Opens at noon on 12/25. (59 Nassau St.)

2. Brooklyn Chop House

Dim sum and chops — the first to marry Chinese with an American steakhouse — the Chop House serves up 50 to 60 dry-aged prime steaks, glazed spare ribs and their super-popular sandwich dumplings. (150 Nassau St.)

3. Malibu Farm

Malibu’s $68 prix-fixe menu is 😘: The first course is between a vegan kale-and-romaine chopped salad or a Tuscan chickpea-and-kale soup, followed by your choice of either seared branzino or prime rib. Seared Branzino. Prime Rib. Chocolate cake or butter-pecan ice cream for dessert. Book your rezzies here. (89 South St.)

4. Ningbo Cafe

A reliable neighborhood favorite for dumplings and noodles with genuinely home-cooked flavors, not to mention its outdoor-seating spot provides criminally unsung views of the Lady Liberty. (21 South End Ave.)

5. Temple Court

From 1p to 8p on both 12/24 and 12/25, Temple Court’s prix-fixe is $125 per person ($65 for children). The full menu includes appetizers like hamachi crudo and Waldorf salad and entrees like potato-crusted turbot and lobster Thermidor. Reservations can be made by calling 212.658.1848 or going online. (5 Beekman St.)

6. Xi’an Famous Foods

This semi-hidden location is open until 3:15p on 12/24 and operates regular hours (11a-9p) on 12/25. Psst, get the stewed pork noodles. (8 Liberty Park)
