The China Institute Takes You On A Virtual Trip For Some Dandan Noodles

Virtual travel is for now our primary mode of sight-seeing, and the China Institute has done wonders to keep our quarantined lives interesting with their ongoing series of digital events.

Their latest offering from their “A Taste of China” series will take viewers to Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan province, for an in-depth discussion on Sichuan cuisine and flavors, from mapo tofu to dandan noodles to hot pot.

We’d recommend having some noodles on hand in advance for this one. Speakers will include a chef from the Sichuan Culinary Institute, as well as Jing Gao, founder and CEO of Fly By Jing, a wildly popular line of chili oils and other condiments, all inspired by the flavors of Gao’s hometown of Chengdu.

Taste of Sichuan will be held on Tuesday, March 9, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., and you can pre-register for the (free!) event here.
