Six Burgers Six Ways: Welcome to Double Yolk’s New Lunchtime Menu

If the neon lights don’t beckon you to Double Yolk’s counter inside Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Tin Building (96 South St.), then the smell of sizzling burgers ought to do the trick. Since its opening last summer, the breakfast bar has found much success with decadent egg sandwiches for the morning crowd. But recently, Double Yolk unveiled a new lunch menu. It’s all about burgers.
Come noon, chef de cuisine Matt Negron and crew are flipping short-rib beef, ground-chicken and marinated-portobello patties, all served with heaps of waffle fries. Customers can choose between three options for the $14 classic burger or the same three choices for a $16 frico burger (topped with baked, crispy bits of cheddar cheese and frizzled onions).
Can’t tell ’em apart in the six tempting photos below? Guess you’ll have to try ’em all, then.

Double Yolk is open seven days, 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
