‘Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience’ Fills The Skylight On Vesey

If going to museums again is on your post-pandemic bucket list, there’s a new interactive installation Downtown that you should strongly consider: ”Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” fills the expansive Skylight on Vesey (300 Vesey Street) with two-story projections of the Dutch master’s most beloved works.

The exhibition simulates a sensation of wandering inside of his paintings, and includes a 10-minute virtual reality feature that places you alongside Van Gogh for “A Day in the Life of the Artist” — walking you through the creative inspiration behind paintings like “Bedroom at Arles” and “Starry Night at the Rhone.”

The experience is set to run through October — Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to  10 p.m. Plan for about an hour to 75 minutes to wander the space and drink in all the swirly lights and colors.
