Where to Watch the Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series Downtown
OK, so we didn’t get the Subway Series of our dreams this year (RIP Grimace Mets), but a Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series is particularly meaningful for New York, and not just because it gives us an opportunity to lord our superior bagels over Los Angeles. These two teams haven’t met in the MLB championship series since 1981, but for years before that, these historic rivals made up the most frequent World Series matchup, a record that still stands today. (And most of those were actually Subway Serieses themselves, since the Dodgers were the Brooklyn Dodgers before moving to Los Angeles in 1958.)
So whether or not you’re a Yankees fan, this is an exciting World Series: and you can watch it right here in Lower Manhattan. Starting Friday, October 25, you’ll be able to catch games at the World Trade Center’s North Oculus Plaza, where the entire series will be streamed on the big screen. In addition to watching the Judge vs. Ohtani matchups, attendees will be able to order food and drinks from the nearby Oculus Beer Garden. There might even be some special fan activities.
The viewings are free and open to the public, with doors open at 7 p.m. (games start at 8:08 p.m.). More information and RSVP link here. Note that if you’d rather post up at a sports bar in the neighborhood, you’ll find a mostly thorough list of spots on our website.
