Remembering Willis Moore, Manager of Collapsed Parking Garage

Tuesday was a saddening and disruptive day in Lower Manhattan. With the collapse of a parking garage on Ann Street, the neighborhood experienced evacuations, street closures and an immediate response from both city emergency teams and the press. The Downtown Alliance has been in constant communication with the businesses in the surrounding area, but if you’ve been affected by street closures or have concerns, please let us know

We also learned about the death of Willis Moore, who was a longtime manager of the garage and widely loved by the community. Numerous individuals have come forward to share stories of Moore, citing him as someone who always had a smile on his face, worked hard and was the kind of man with whom you always liked to interact, even if it were only for a few moments of your day.
