Downtown Alliance Announces Tenants for RE:Store, Its Innovative Pop-Up Storefront Program

May 15, 2026

NEW YORK (May 12, 2026) – The Downtown Alliance has announced the participating tenants and properties for RE:Store, the program designed to give small business operators the opportunity to open a free temporary pop-up storefront in Lower Manhattan. Over 360 applications were submitted for the opportunity earlier this year. The following seven businesses across six different locations were selected as the winners by a panel of retail experts and will open their storefronts beginning in June:

Plus BKLYN: 2 Broadway

The “Plus BKLYN: Bigger in Manhattan” pop-up is a curated boutique specializing in secondhand and vintage plus-size fashion (sizes 12+). The store will offer bold, trend-forward styles and create an inclusive, community-driven space for people often left out of traditional retail.

Kitchen Arts & Letters: 111 Broadway

“New York Food Stories by Kitchen Art and Letters” is a pop-up bookstore dedicated to food and drink, in this case focused on New York’s extraordinary culinary traditions. Kitchen Arts & Letters demonstrates the remarkable blend of different cuisines and heritages that New York City showcases by offering a diverse selection of books and related merchandise.

Brooklyn Craft Company:  225 Broadway

The modern craft supply shop and DIY workshop space will open its pop-up “Brooklyn Craft Company’s Summer in the City.” The store will stock a carefully curated selection of DIY supplies for all making needs, including yarn, fabric, notions, kits, crafty gifts and more. In addition to their long-standing classes and community events, the pop-up will feature a rotating menu of drop-in crafting opportunities.

The Numero Group: 186 Front St.

The legendary archival record label will present “The Numero Group NYC Pop Up,” where it will sell its definitive box sets, vinyl reissues, CDs tapes and more. Founded in 2003 by Rob Sevier and Ken Shipley, for over two decades Numero has been mining the 20th century for sonic curios, packaging and contextualizing their discoveries for a new generation of listeners.

Dimorae Home and Francis’ World: 190 Front St.

Dimorae Home and Francis’ World: Living with Art” is a collaborative activation from two friends that presents a curated way of living where art, design and everyday objects come together. The pop-up will feature hand-printed artworks, stationery, tableware, and home goods within thoughtfully designed interior vignettes that reflect the aesthetic of the two brands.

Element Brooklyn: 192 Front St.

The sustainable luxury home goods brand that manufactures and sells soaps, candles, diffusers, body care, hair care and cleaning products will open “Element Brooklyn’s Gallery of Scent.” At this summer pop-up, fragrance comes alive through interactive scent exploration, hands-on candle-making and Element’s signature sustainable refillery.

Each participating business will receive a free storefront to showcase their retail concept for a three month period, beginning around Memorial Day. They will also receive up to $15,000 in grant funding for fit-out and operating expenses. Participants will also receive assistance with fit-out, design, permitting and insurance. Throughout the summer, each business will enliven their storefronts with events and activations for their customers and the local community.

“RE:Store is about creating real opportunities for small businesses to grow, experiment and connect with new audiences in Lower Manhattan,” Downtown Alliance President Jessica Lappin said. “We are thankful for the property owners who have worked with us to make these spaces available for these entrepreneurs.”
