Watch ‘The Nutcracker’ At Brookfield’s Winter Garden In Your Finest Bathrobe
If the chilly December air has visions of sugar plums dancing in your head, it might be time to don some appropriate attire (terrycloth robe, fuzzy slippers), grab a mug of hot chocolate and fire up the laptop for the New York Theatre Ballet’s virtual rendition of “The Nutcracker.”
On December 9, 16, and 23 at 12p, viewers can log on as the dance company presents “Virtual Vignettes of The Nutcracker,” a series of short impressionistic passages from the iconic ballet that will be performed throughout Brookfield Place’s bedecked Winter Garden.
The ballet, performed to Tchaikovsky’s classic score, was choreographed by longtime NYTB collaborator Keith Michael and follows a year of performances dubbed “The Living Room Series” that were conceived as a way to make the performance more accessible to audiences during a time of increased forced isolation.
“Virtual Vignettes of The Nutcracker” will be available to stream online for free via Brookfield’s website.
