Want to Help Your Community From Home? Phone-Bank For The 2020 Census.

If you’re looking for a way to do good and make a difference in your community but don’t feel comfortable interacting outside your home, consider making calls for the 2020 Census.

Go to the NYC Census website and register for a phone-bank event to encourage fellow New Yorkers to get counted and be represented for the resources they deserve. You can participate from anywhere: All you need is a phone and a computer.

The US Census is a once-in-a-decade event that will determine the resource allocation of the future: things like schools, clinics and roads, as well as billions of dollars in federal funding and programs essential to health-care, housing and transportation. The data is vital for accurate representation and just government spending.

By phone-banking, you’ll connect with people in neighborhoods with the lowest current rates of self-response. For Manhattan neighborhoods, the event takes place every Monday 6p–8p. Also consider Brooklyn on Thursday, July 2, which is the highest priority according to the website.
