Battery Park City Library Is Back With Grab-and-Go Service
Your reading options just expanded in Lower Manhattan: The New York Public Library’s Battery Park City branch (175 North End Avenue) has reopened for “grab-and-go” service.
Here’s how it works: Request materials ahead of time on the NYPL website or over the phone at (212) 790-3499. When your title becomes available, you’ll receive an email that it’s ready for pickup — this also applies to any holds placed prior to the branch’s closure in March.
Patrons won’t be able to browse the stacks, but they can access a small, socially-distanced area of the library to check out or return pre-reserved items via kiosk. An added perk: fines won’t accrue on checkouts until at least June, so you’re free to take your time with any ambitious reads.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday; 11a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and closed on Sunday. Visit the Battery Park City Library’s website for more information.
