It’s tough to top the setting of the newly reimagined M Social New York Downtown at 55 Church St. Formerly known as the Millennium Downtown, the hotel has been reborn as a sleek, modern retreat that rises above the Oculus, offering sweeping, front-row views of the World Trade Center complex you won’t find anywhere else.
One of the most exciting additions to the revamped hotel is its ground-level restaurant, Beast & Butterflies Downtown. With a tapas-style menu, the restaurant leans into Spanish-inspired small plates, including an irresistible lineup of hams, cheeses and shareable favorites like pan con tomate, tiger shrimp and bacon-wrapped dates. It’s an ideal spot to settle in with friends or coworkers and enjoy a bite or maybe a bottle of wine.
At Beast & Butterflies Downtown, you’ll want to grab a seat at the bar to fully experience the warmth and glamor of this space. The bar showcases a love of gin, pouring inventive cocktails alongside a standout selection of Spanish wines (and not to worry, sangria is very much included in the list).
With a daily happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m., there’s even more reason to stop by after work, featuring favorites like sangria, carajillo, Spanish wines and vermouth-forward creations. You can also visit on Thursday evenings for live music or swing through on Fridays, when a DJ sets the rhythm for the weekend ahead. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can make a reservation here.
