A Fancy New BikeCorral Has Arrived Downtown Just In Time For Bike-To-Work Week
Few forms of commute are more freeing than cycling — you get to skip train delays and car traffic while taking in sunshine, exercise and some delightful breeze in your hair. Lower Manhattan is celebrating the wonders of the bike commute with next week’s National Bike to Work Week, and to facilitate your two-wheeled ride, the Department of Transportation has installed a handy BikeCorral on Cedar Street at West Street.
In partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Downtown Alliance, the Cedar Street BikeCorral provides nine handy bike U-loops that’ll provide safe and sturdy parking for up to 18 bikes at a time. They’re free to use and first come, first serve; just make sure you don’t commit a major bike parking faux pas, like locking your bike to someone else’s. Happy riding! And make note of Bike to Work Week, which runs May 17 through May 21.
