Where To Celebrate Purim In Lower Manhattan

Purim is a great time to let your hair down and celebrate one of Judaism’s most fun holidays. In fact, under Jewish law, you are legally obligated to have a merry old time on Purim, and in Lower Manhattan, you’re sure to (safely) fulfill those obligations. 

Here are four reliable Downtown options for you and your family to celebrate Purim. All events below (except for Purim Storytime) will take place at 128 Pearl Street at The Rooftop Garden. To attend, you must register at the links provided.

Purim Under The Stars

On Thursday, February 25, a socially distanced Purim party kicks off the holiday. Wear your costumes, hear the Megillah reading and eat some Hamantaschen. The individually-wrapped food will be catered by Chef David Teyf of Madison & Park Hospitality. Register here for Purim under the Stars from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Purim At The Carnival

Before Shabbat on Friday, February 26, celebrate Purim with the family with a magic show, balloon twisting and a bubble show. There will be a multimedia presentation of the Megillah reading and Hamantaschen. Don’t forget to wear your costume! The individually-wrapped food will be catered by Chef David Teyf of Madison & Park Hospitality and tables will have plexiglass partitions for added safety. Community Shabbat — Purim Style

Also on February 26, starting at 6:30 p.m., celebrate Shabbat like it’s Purim! For Kiddush, individually-wrapped food will be catered by Chef David Teyf of Madison & Park Hospitality and there will be plenty of room for social distancing, as well as plexiglass between tables. Purim Storytime

Get started celebrating Purim early from the comfort of your home on Thursday, February 18. Featuring a special Purim message from ventriloquist Chuck Field, hear the Purim story as part of one of the most fun celebrations of the year. Register here for Purim Storytime, which starts at 6:30 p.m.
