Six Dine Around Downtown Itineraries for Every Type of Foodie

Since there are so many delicious options at Dine Around Downtown — happening on June 4 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Fosun Plaza (28 Liberty St.) — it can be hard to know which of the 41 restaurants to check out first, and in what order. To help you out, we’ve gone ahead and created custom food itineraries for every type of eater, whether you want to impress your date with fine-dining options or get a real sugar rush to carry you through the rest of the workday. Note that all dishes run only $5 to $9, and don’t forget to post your plate to Instagram with #DineAroundDowntown to win a weekend staycation in Lower Manhattan!

For the Fried Food Fanatics

Start with crispy sesame chicken from Wei West and polenta fries from Harry’s. Follow it up with popcorn chicken from Henry’s Sandwich and bubble tea and chicken empanadas from Havana Social. For dessert, grab a cannolo classico from Eataly Downtown.

If You’ve Got a Serious Sweet Tooth

Grab a pistachio baklava from Pi Bakerie FiDi, a triple chocolate cookie from Cookie Odyssey, a creme brulee donut from Stout NYC FiDi, and traditional sticky toffee pudding from Fraunces Tavern. Wash it all down with a mango lassi from Benares.

The Veggie Victory Tour

Start your food journey with Mexican street corn from Mad Dog & Beans and a samosa from Bombay’s Indian Cuisine. Then pick up a Brazilian cheese bread from Cafe Patoro and a Fresqueria bowl from Chevere. Your last stop should be Farida for the pumpkin and spinach umka pies. If you’re feeling thirsty, the blueberry lemonade from Luke’s Lobster is sure to be refreshing.

Date Night Dining

Impress your Dine Around date (work wife is acceptable) with some of the best food Lower Manhattan has to offer, like wild mushroom risotto from Delmonico’s, a potato flatbread with pork al pastor from Manhatta, and grilled lamb chops from Harry’s. Still hungry? Try the lobster mac and cheese from Stone Street Tavern and for dessert, a pineapple sherbert from Morton’s the Steakhouse.

Eat Your Inner Child

Feed your inner 8-year-old with elevated kid-friendly picks like mac & cheese from Route 66 Smokehouse, kobe beef sliders from Stone Street Tavern, chicken sliders from the Malt House FiDi, and Italian meatballs from Best Sicily Bottega. Obviously, the cookie trio pack from Mah-Ze-Dahr at Hudson Eats is a must-have for dessert.

Globetrotting Gastronomy

Take yourself on a journey around the world with chicken tikka masala from Benares, ropa vieja from Havana Social, and BBQ fried rice from Dim Sum Palace. Keep it going with authentic Uzbek plov from Farida, ceviche from Mezcali and the salmon avocado roll from Nara Sushi.
