Impress Dad With These Five Last-Minute Father’s Day Plans

June 15, 2026

Father’s Day is coming up fast this year, and if you forgot to make a reservation on June 21 (we won’t tell), we’ve got some last-minute plans that are sure to please the old man. See below for inspo, and tag us on Instagram @downtownnyc if you end up having a fun Father’s Day with Dad downtown!

Take Dad to a Steak Dinner

If your pop loves a good rib-eye, Delmonico’s (56 Beaver St.) is the place to take him. As the oldest restaurant in the country, this downtown standby has been serving up delectable signature rib-eyes and other meaty dishes for centuries. Grab a reservation for lunch or dinner online and get ready for a delicious meal of steaks, sides and, of course, Baked Alaskas.

Treat Him to a Shave and a Haircut at Common Ditch Social

Pamper your pops with a visit to the Common Ditch Social (74 Broad St.), a stylish barber shop that goes above and beyond. We’d recommend booking your dad the full service, which includes a scalp massaging shampoo, hot towel massage, haircut, manicure and beverage. He deserves it!

Have a Whiskey or Three at a Historic Bar

The recently renovated Dingle Whiskey Bar is one of several drinking spots inside Fraunces Tavern (54 Pearl St.), and it’s a particularly cozy one, with dark wood paneling and low ceilings that make you feel like you’re drinking inside a whiskey barrel. You and pop can sample one or several of the bar’s many whiskeys or bourbons, curl up in an armchair and chat about the good old days.

Do Dinner and a Show at Alamo Drafthouse Downtown

There’s a new Spielberg summer adventure coming out — a perfect Father’s Day date! Grab tickets at Alamo Drafthouse (28 Liberty St.), where you can bond over bottomless popcorn and beers, then cap the day off with a cocktail and a trip through movie history at the on-site Press Room bar

Sail Together on a Tall Ship

We hear that some dads love boats, and if your dad is one of those, we’ve got quite the treat for him. Sign up for a tour of the New York Harbor on the historic tall ship Clipper City, operated by Manhattan by Sail, for an on-the-water view of the city complete with top-notch vibes. Sadly, there aren’t any tours available on Father’s Day proper, but you can make a whole weekend of it with a Friday or Saturday booking.
