Follow your nose over to Brookfield Place for a visit to Hermès’s only parfumerie in the entire world. Then intoxicate your senses with traces of exclusive colognes, classic perfumes and bath & body collections.
Designed by Denis Montel of RDAI Architecture, the 1,000-square-foot space gives you plenty to sample and try on — minus the spritz-happy salespeople. You are surrounded by marble, leather and wood in a calming, tranquil realm where aromatic odors proliferate.
Jean-Claude Ellena, perfumer to the house of Hermès, has created collections that are inspired by his personal experiences and travels. These include the most unusual combinations of ingredients: rose petals with rhubarb, osmanthus flowers with Chinese tea, Brasil wood with paprika, leather with musk, lavender with black licorice — you get the idea.
Still a family-owned company, Hermès makes their scents solely in France by hand and with love. What started as a harness and bridle shop for the carriage trade morphed into one of the world’s leading luxury brands offering leather goods, apparel, accessories, fragrances and much more.
Treat yourself to one of their Leather Treasures, Lock Sprays, or candles from their home fragrance collection. Or compose your own tailor-made nomad set for any upcoming travels. Feminine, masculine and unisex fragrances also make great gifts for upcoming Mother’s & Father’s Days.
So head (or nose) over to Lower Manhattan’s newest parfumerie this season for a drop of eau de spring!
