It’s Always Bagel O’Clock at Leon’s Bagels

It’s Always Bagel O’Clock at Leon’s Bagels

August 25, 2025

Your eyes and tastebuds aren’t deceiving you: There’s yet another great bagel spot downtown. Leon’s Bagels quietly sprung up at 12 John St. for even more analysis paralysis freedom of choice when it comes to your breakfast in Lower Manhattan.

The tiny storefront prides itself on being “nothing fancy” per its slogan, so the name of the game here is quality over quantity — which means you really can’t go wrong with a classic order like an everything, sesame or poppyseed bagel with cream cheese, a BEC breakfast sandwich or, of course, lox. Step up to the window, place your to-go order (keep in mind there’s no seating, and not even an “inside” to step in), and prepare to make your coworkers jealous when you walk in with this bag.

If you love your lox, you can also rep the shop on the streets with a surprisingly chic selection of merch. Plus, you can also get your coffees, teas and juice to complete your morning routine. (The cold brew is great.) Leon’s Bagels is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and until 4 p.m. on weekends.
