Eight Lower Manhattan Hotels to Book for Your Family This Holiday

As the holidays rapidly approach, friends and family are likely scouring the web for the best places to bunk when planning their NYC visit. (That is, if they haven’t already texted you six times to call dibs on your sofa.) Consider this a reminder about the array of hotels in Lower Manhattan where one can seek refuge. There’s plenty to see and do in the neighborhood, and the transportation to get around the city from here is untouchable. And it’s true that, while hotel rates often change by the day (especially this time of year), surely all your relatives’ demands will be met by one or more of the following options:

Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown

For families and those wanting the ultimate cush experience downtown, the Four Seasons has a holiday package which includes a VIP shopping experience at Brookfield Place and Westfield World Trade Center as well as priority access to One World Observatory and a four-course dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s CUT. Plus, they’ve a pool, spa and gym. (27 Barclay St.)

Conrad New York Downtown

The luxury Hilton hotel is located right across from Brookfield Place, so it’s an ideal spot if you’re into ice skating, first-rate restaurants and shopping ’til you drop. (102 North End Ave.)

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Downtown

A reliably affordable spot that’s great for using your points and only a two-block walk to the World Trade Center. (100 Greenwich St.)

Hilton Garden Inn Financial Center

Breakfast is included in this budget-friendly hotel which has come highly recommended by relatives of Alliance staffers. It’s also right near the Staten Island and Gov Island Ferries. (6 Water St.)

Residence Inn by Marriott New York Downtown

The Residence Inn is a smart choice for those planning for a longer stay. The rooms have their own kitchenettes, and the location (corner of Broadway and Maiden Lane) is super-convenient for those who want to dart up to the Theater District and catch a show or two, then cab it back down for a nightcap and bedtime. (170 Broadway)

Millennium Hilton New York Downtown

The Millennium has incredible views and a family-friendly swimming pool. It’s also right across from the Oculus so your folks will be dangerously close for a ton of shopping. (55 Church St.)

Mr C Seaport

Mr C is such a charming getaway, located right on the cobblestones by the water. Rooms are likely going quickly. (33 Peck Slip)

Moxy NYC Downtown

For the young and young at heart, the Moxy is also home to Recreation — the bar/lounge replete with DJs, movie screenings, music and events almost every day of the week. Oh, and there’s even a basketball half-court (in the hotel, not the bar). (26 Ann St.)
