Consider this your friendly reminder that Mother’s Day is May 10. If you’re looking to make Mom feel special, book a reservation for a Mother’s Day brunch or dinner at one of these spots downtown. From elegant French fare to brunch classics to sushi, there’s sure to be something here that’s perfect for the whole crew.
Mezze on the River
Mezze on the River (375 South End Ave.) is offering an elevated brunch prix fixe menu in honor of Mother’s Day. Enjoy crab croquettes, goat cheese and herb omelettes, grilled branzino and a chef’s selection of desserts, among other delicious offerings. Enjoy it all while you and Mom take in the gorgeous views of the Hudson River. The prix fixe menu is $65 per person; you can book your reservation through the website.
La Marchande
For a Mother’s Day brunch your mom won’t soon forget, reserve a table at La Marchande (88 Wall St.). Entree options for the Mother’s Day brunch include a chévre omelette, an egg sandwich with a Calabrian chili aioli, and Belgian waffles served with an orange-thyme marmalade and warm chocolate sauce. The prix fixe menu is $95 per guest and can be reserved through La Marchande’s website.
Capital Grille
Spoil mom with a Mother’s Day celebration at the Capital Grille (120 Broadway). The steakhouse is offering a two-course prix fixe brunch menu with enticing bites like a blueberry bread basket for the table, a cold-smoked salmon and avocado toast, filet mignon and lobster frittata. If your crew includes kids, no need to book a sitter. The restaurant is offering a kids’ brunch menu for the occasion, with fare such as scrambled eggs with cheese and chicken fingers. Prix fixe seatings are $60 for adults and $17 for children and can be booked through the website.
Temple Court and the Bar Room at the Beekman
This spot sets the scene for a very special Mother’s Day brunch, thanks to the striking Old New York interior. Both Temple Court and the Bar Room at the Beekman (123 Nassau St.) are offering a Mother’s Day brunch menu with dishes including brioche French toast, braised lamb and a rhubarb and strawberry sorbet. Seatings are $85 per person and can be booked here.
Eataly
There’s no shortage of ways to celebrate Mom at Eataly Downtown (101 Liberty St.). You and your mom can tap into your creative side with a special Mother’s Day paint-and-sip class happening May 8 or try your hand at chocolate making at a Mother’s Day chocolate-making class on May 9. On May 10, there’s a family pizza-making class and a tiramisu-making class. But if mom would rather let someone else handle the cooking, you can also book a lunch or dinner reservation at Eataly Downtown’s in-house restaurants La Pizza & La Pasta or Vino &… for a special meal.
Nobu
Nobu’s Mother’s Day brunch is truly something special. Forget pancakes and a mimosa — you’re having tuna poke, yellowtail, black cod with miso and rock shrimp to celebrate Mom. Nobu’s downtown location is at 195 Broadway. Brunch seatings are $85 per adult and $38 per child. (If yours isn’t quite adventurous enough for raw fish yet, the kids’ menu includes things like chicken skewers and noodles with miso butter). Reservations can be made here.
Industry Kitchen
Treat your mom to sweeping waterfront views and great food at Industry Kitchen (70 South St.). The restaurant’s Mother’s Day menu has plenty of enticing offerings like Scottish smoked salmon eggs Benedict, bourbon maple-glazed ham, mushroom and asparagus ravioli, and Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée. Pair it with beer, wine or one of the specialty cocktails. The Skyline, made with gin, elderflower and rose, feels perfect for a brunch with Mom. Enjoy it all at one of the outdoor tables if the weather is nice. You can make your reservation through the website.
Delmonico’s
If your mom’s idea of a good time is steak, oysters and a bracingly cold martini, grab a table at Delmonico’s (56 Beaver St.). No pre fixe menu here, but we’d say the regular menu is special enough. In addition to the aforementioned steakhouse classics, you and Mom can enjoy dishes including caviar lemon pasta, royal eggs Benedict, crab cakes and more. Finish it off with a baked Alaska, which was invented by the restaurant in 1867. You can make your lunch or dinner reservation through the website.
