NYC Ferry riders, here’s some news you can use: Starting on December 8, you’ll see some changes to the ferry schedule, including new stops and routes.
New routes include a direct ferry between the Bronx and Rockaways, as well as a ferry connection between Brooklyn and Staten Island that will terminate at Wall Street. Riders will also see updates on the East River ferry route, which currently connects North Brooklyn and Dumbo to Queens and Midtown and terminates at Wall Street. By the end of 2025, the ferry route will likely split in two during busy hours to speed up commutes.
The changes are part of an overall redesign from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). You can learn more about the initiative on NYCEDC’s website. Bon voyage!
